3rd row fold flat seat – 3rd row seat folds flat into the floor eliminating any obstructions in the cargo area.

Adaptive headlights – an advanced front lighting system that provides optimal illumination of the road by having the low beam headlamps pivot left or right based on your car's speed and direction you are turning. An active headlight system uses steering angle sensors to help illuminate the area around corners. Also, front lights change beam patterns to handle situations like rain, city driving and highway driving.

Adaptive/intelligent cruise control (ACC) – driver selects a desired distance to follow traffic and a desired cruise speed. It automatically adjusts the speed of the vehicle to the speed of highway traffic. When traffic slows, it adjusts the speed of the vehicle to maintain the desired distance from the vehicle in front.

Added insulation to reduce engine and road noise – enhanced sound deadening insulation installed to help quiet the interior. Reduces wind and road noise.

Adjustable foot pedals – gas and brake pedals can be moved closer or further away to suit the individual driver.

All object detection – external object detection senses objects (other vehicles, trees, signs, etc.) around the entire vehicle. Appropriate warning can be delivered to the driver. At that point, the driver must take action to avoid the collision.

All wheel drive – all wheels provide driving force to enhance traction in inclement weather or when spirited driving is wanted. On-road all-wheel-drive systems are biased for sporty driving in clear to moderately inclement conditions. Four-Wheel-Drive or 4x4 systems are usually found on pickup trucks and SUVs and are capable of driving off-road in very challenging conditions.

Automatic climate control – desired climate is maintained by controlling the heater, vent, and/or air conditioner.

Automatic windshield fog prevention – sensors detect possible fogging conditions and activate climate control system to keep windshield from fogging without driver intervention.

Backup camera – a small camera provides images behind the vehicle when in reverse gear. The driver can view obstacles behind the vehicle that may be hidden even when turning to look behind the vehicle.

Bluetooth connectivity – Bluetooth provides seamless connection between various electronic devises over a short distance. A typical Bluetooth application would be a cellular phone where it would sync seamlessly with the vehicle's audio system. If you are on the phone when entering the vehicle, the phone would sync with the vehicle's audio system, mute the radio and conversation could be heard through the audio speakers in the vehicle. Bluetooth may also be able to handle wider ranges of capabilities in the future.

Branded (Bose/Monsoon) premium audio system
– high performance name-brand audio system. An extra-cost upgrade from the standard audio system in the vehicle.

Cabin air filtration system – filter built into the air conditioning/heating system to help reduce cabin dust and pollen.

Car-to-Home Controls - buttons in the vehicle can be set to operate features in your home, such as opening the garage door or a gate or to turn on lights in your home.

Digital instruments – Instead of a speedometer and/or other analog gauges, one or several gauges in the instrument cluster are replaced by a digital readout. The most usual digital gauge is the speedometer.

Dock iPod into audio system – integrates your Apple iPod into your vehicle’s audio system and play music from your iPod through your car’s speaker system. Can allow control of iPod's playlists through instrument panel controls. Some also display iPod playlists on the radio or navigation display

Dock MP3 player into audio system – the ability to dock your MP3 player into your vehicle’s audio system and play music from your MP3 player through your car’s speaker system.

Electric plugs like at home (AC) – 110-volt electric plugs for powering things like vacuum cleaners, lights and TVs and portable entertainment systems - just like at home.

Electronic air purification system – filters/purifiers integral with the air conditioning system that will filter particles from the outside air helping to keep the air inside the vehicle clean and free from allergens.

Electronic stability control system – system helps control the motion of the vehicle to make it more stable. If the vehicle begins to skid sideways, a sensor detects this and the brakes at each wheel are suitably controlled so that the vehicle does not spin out or make a wide turn.

Electronic system to reduce engine and road noise – using noise cancellation technology, this system reduces noise by matching sound waves with a reverse wave to cancel out the sound.

Energy efficient air-conditioning to save fuel – requires less engine power to run the air conditioning system. It improves fuel economy and reduces emissions.

Fold flat front passenger seat – front passenger seat back folds forward to yield a flat load surface. Good for loading long items in the vehicle or for use as an in-vehicle work surface.

HD radio – high quality radio signals broadcast over the airwaves rather than by Satellite

Head-up display – critical information – such as speed, navigation instructions and warning lights – are projected onto the inside of the windshield. The driver can read the information simply by refocusing his eyes, not turning his head.

Heated/cooled cupholders – cupholders that keep your hot drinks warm and your cold drinks cool.

Heated/cooled storage – available storage that can help maintain food or beverages warm or cold. Not a refrigerator, this system would not frost a cold drink. Not an oven, this system would not cook a meal or pop popcorn.

High intensity headlights - produce more light than standard headlights while using one-third less power. HID headlamps illuminate a wider area of road and reduce glare to oncoming traffic. More light means better road vision for the driver and enhances safety.

In-dash multi-disc CD audio system – CD Changer, usually with 6 discs, mounted in the audio system in the center of the dash. With this location, you do not have to load a multi-disc CD cartridge located in the trunk.

Integrated hard drive for music storage – as entertainment products like Apple's iPod achieve even wider acceptance, the vehicle can become the receptacle from the iPod. So, your music would resident in the car in addition to the iPod.

Internet access in vehicle – Receive internet-based services such as telephone (VOIP), text messages, email through in the vehicle. Likely integrated with the navigation system.

Keep awake-drowsiness alert system – alerting devices are activated according to the degree of inattentiveness of the driver; drowsy drivers may be nudged awake automatically by the vibration of their seat or by increased radio volume.

Massaging seats – seats that can provide a low intensity massage while driving.

Mayday service – a communications device that allows the driver to contact an emergency service in the event of a breakdown or accident. If the airbag deploys, contact is made automatically and the location of the vehicle is found by a global positioning system (GPS).

Memory driver’s position – the ability to set preferred seating, steering wheel and mirror position for comfort and convenience. Most systems allow for multiple settings. Some systems can also set radio and climate control preferences.

Minivan power sliding doors – power motors help open the sliding side doors. Often actuated by the keyless remote control system.

Navigation system – a GPS-based system to provide present location and turn-by-turn directions to a destination you program into the system. Many navigation systems also include several route options and identify points of interest along the way. Most in-vehicle navigation systems have map data provided on DVDs which can cover the whole 48-States address-by-address.

Occupant sensor – a detection system that controls air bag deployment for front seat passengers.

Park assist system – a sensor system that can judge the distance of the vehicle from an obstruction. When backing up an audible signal sounds more urgently the closer the vehicle comes to an obstruction.

Power 3rd row fold flat seat – 3rd row seat folds at the touch of a button eliminating the need to push or pull levers to fold the seat out of the way.

Power folding 2nd row seat – 2nd Row seats fold at the touch of a button to eliminate pushing or pulling levers to fold down the seats.

Power open/close trunk/liftgate – power motors help open the liftgate. The vehicle's remote keyless entry system can pop open the back cargo door.

Power opening doors – power motors help open the doors eliminating the need to physically push the doors open.

Power rear seats - rear seats are adjustable with slight reclining, lumbar support and moving forward, similar to power front seats.

Power Retractable Running Boards - when the vehicle’s door opens the running board extends outward, providing a sturdy foothold for the occupant. When the door closes, the running board retracts and is out of the way.

Rain sensing windshield wipers – a sensor detects the amount of moisture hitting the windshield and this system operates the windshield wipers automatically for optimum performance.

Reading light – conveniently located overhead lights to illuminate maps, books or other reading material in the vehicle.

Real-time traffic information – a system that provides current traffic information for your area and, if part of a navigation system, immediately suggests alternate routes when appropriate through a global positioning system and real-time traffic information database.

Rear seat DVD/game system – adds video game capability to rear seat entertainment system. Adds one or two video screens and a DVD player so rear seat passengers can enjoy recorded movies or TV shows while riding.

Rear seat tray tables – tray tables usually mounted in the backs of the front seats used by rear seat passengers for writing, reading or playing games.

Remote engine start – will start a vehicle safely with a remote control device from a distance away.

Run flat tires – a tire that can run for a certain distance without air in it. Run-flat tires are designed to operate effectively with or without air, providing acceptable handling qualities when deflated, and good ride and handling when inflated. With run flat tires, it may be possible to eliminate a spare tire. Also, after a flat tire, a run flat allows the car to be driven to a safe area where the tire can be repaired.

Satellite radio – an in-dash radio receiver/tuner that gets its signal from satellites in stationary orbit over the USA. Provides fade-free consistent reception for over 100 channels anywhere in the country. National, not local, broadcasts.

Satellite TV – in-vehicle access to television signals broadcast by satellites. The vehicle has an antenna mounted on the roof to access the signals transmitted by the satellites. Viewing is through the rear seat entertainment system.

Side curtain airbags – an airbag designed to inflate when the vehicle is impacted from the side, protecting occupants of the car.

Steering wheel controls – Controls located on the steering wheel for various functions like audio volume, audio mode and channel settings, temperature control, fan speed and cruise control.

Stolen vehicle locator – technology that allows a vehicle to be tracked using a global positioning system (such as, Lojack system).

Tilt/telescoping steering column – steering column adjusts up-and-down plus in-and-out to provide the driver with the most comfortable driving position.

Traction control system – helps provide smoother, more controlled acceleration by reducing the amount of wheel spin during reduced traction conditions. Traction control uses the vehicle’s anti-lock braking system and is usually activated only at low vehicle speeds.

USB port for flash memory sticks – a considerable amount of music and data can be stored on a USB memory stick. Some audio systems can accept a memory stick to either download music from the stick to the audio system or play music directly from the stick. This can be thought of as a portable party mix for music.

Variable color interior lighting – Selectable ambient or accent lighting that can be adjusted by the driver to change the color of the interior illumination of the vehicle. A wide range of colors would be available that could be adjusted for mood or intensity.

Ventilated/cooled seats – cooling and ventilating elements are built into the seat cushion and backrest to keep the seat cool even in the hottest conditions.

Voice activated controls – a computer-based system that recognizes a command spoken by the user; enables a driver to use a car phone, navigation system and other features without using their hands.
